Based in Singapore and reporting to the Country Manager, the Technical Sales Manager APAC is responsible for overseeing the region’s ongoing and future sales pipeline. The role will lead client facing activities focused on technical advice, offshore scopes of work and project delivery in order to grow, improve and optimise the APAC business.


The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of the client process: from specifying solutions and bidding to supporting project execution. The role will ensure that all project opportunities within the APAC region are captured and explored, working toward each distinct business unit within APAC being able to offer the full suite of project services. The role is to ensure capture and delivery of future projects in the region with a goal to support the business, meeting and exceeding its annual budget.


Requirements
  • Senior Naval Architecture or suitable engineering qualification
  • 10+ years experience in Mooring design, engineering, installation and management
  • Track record executing and delivering large-scale projects in APAC region
  • Significant track record in offshore delivery of varied mooring scopes
  • Relationships with potential / current major Mooring clients at an operational / decision-maker level
  • Familiarity with the major class authorities: DNV / ABS / API etc. and the implications on offshore work.
  • Business acumen, with a strong commercial aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adaptability, initiative and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive and positive to changes and challenges
  • Familiarity with specialist software used for Mooring design and analysis

Further skills essential to this position include:

  • Continually and actively present and market InterMoor’s services to existing and potential customers through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls, emails and exhibitions/trade shows.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within assigned Business Region with a view to increasing market share
  • Maintain an understanding and knowledge of the sectors within assigned Business Region in which InterMoor operates, including undertaking market and trend analysis
  • Continually identify, qualify and maximise opportunities to ensure sufficient levels of potential new business is maintained in the opportunity pipeline.
  • Establish and build effective and productive relationships with key client base
  • Assume responsibility to achieve sales revenue and margins that meet management expectations and agreed objectives.
  • Develop and implement Regional sales tactics and detailed plans in conjunction with Country Manager that align with overall strategic business objectives
  • Assess new opportunities potential and recommend commercial solutions that meet customer needs and maximise value
  • Lead Technical discussions with APAC clients
  • On own initiative or in conjunction with Proposals team, ensure all proposals are delivered with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • On own initiative or in conjunction with Project Delivery team, ensure all projects are delivered with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Support Operational requirements
  • Identify and conduct the bidding for major projects with a goal to winning profitable contracts and operationally executing offshore scopes within the capability of InterMoor’s global service offering.
  • Manage and maintain business development processes with a view to continuous improvement
  • Liaise with APAC technical authorities and bodies (DNV/ABS/API etc) on key requirements and changes affecting InterMoor’s regional business offering.
  • Explore differing options and approaches that could reduce cost to either the client or InterMoor, as well as, improve efficiency, output and reduce risk through technical developments.
  • Role may require occasional offshore work from time to time.
